Provo UT - Hundreds of families lined up outside the BYU Marriott Center on October 28th, 2025, looking to trick-or-treat with student-athletes at the concourse. Each athletic team set up a booth around the circumference of the conference center, handing out candy to children as they went from station to station.
Everyone came in costumes, adults and children alike. Some families came with coordinated outfits, so that groups of Disney characters, monsters, and demon hunters toured the event. Student-athletes did the same, creating matching outfits with their teams. Men’s Volleyball dressed up as characters from Clash Royale, Women’s Golf showed up as characters from Willy Wonka, and both Men’s and Women’s Tennis came as devils and angels, respectively.
“I love interacting with all the kids,” Chelsie Bluestien, on the Women’s Tennis team, said after the event. “It’s fun to hand out candy and make them smile. They get to be part of the team!”
“The best part is just seeing the smiles on all of the kids,” Maddie Woolley from Women’s Softball said. “One of the best things about BYU is getting involved with our community and interacting with all these awesome families.”
The Dunk Team had the Cosmomobile pulled up outside the Marriott Center, playing music from the car speakers. Cosmo himself made an appearance, dressed in a Halloween outfit reminiscent of a werewolf. He took pictures with kids as the teams of student-athletes passed out candy at their booths, wishing everyone a happy Halloween.
The event was meant to last two hours, but the line still reached out into the parking lot as the sky darkened and campus closed. Even still, the student-athletes kept going, handing out candy until everyone who had come had received both chocolate and high-fives.
“It’s been awesome,” Ian Little from Men’s Volleyball said. “It’s by far one of my favorite things. Handing out tons of candy, it’s been so good.”
In years past, the student-athletes had trick-or-treated with fans at the Student Athletic Building. But with the event gaining popularity, it was moved to the Marriott Center to accommodate more cars, more families, and more fun. To that point, Candy on the Concourse is set to return next year, when even more Halloween memories will be made.
