Learning Specialist - Olympic Sports

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works individually with a caseload of student-athletes who are at-risk for low academic performance.
  • Creates academic support plans, oversees weekly reports, and monitors progression of student-athlete grades.
  • Evaluates English language learning needs and act as a liaison for international student athletes to promote academic success.

  • Served a mission in Fresno, California.
  • Lived in the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, and China.
  • Likes outdoors and nature including playing sports, mountain biking, hiking, gardening, and camping.
  • Married to Vinicius Sousa who is an extreme Pokémon and anime nerd.
  • Mom of a huge German Shepherd Husky (AKA a wolf) named Kodai.
  • Likes to read, travel, cook ethnic foods, keep a 1,000+ day Duolingo streak, do puzzles, play the piano and violin, watch Korean dramas, and weight lift.  
  • Speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and sometimes French or ASL on a good day.
  • Played soccer, threw the javelin, and was a cheerleader.
