Sports Nutrition Center and Fuel Cards

Fuel cards provide athletes with nutrition to help fuel performance and recovery for practice and competition. Your fuel card will give you access to a variety of food options at the Sports Nutrition Center and a daily amount of money to spend at on-campus restaurants.

However, like any privilege, it's important to use it responsibly. Please follow all the rules and guidelines below when using your Fuel Card.

What's a Fuel Card?

On weekdays, you may use your Fuel Card to pay for food at certain locations on campus. The total amount you can spend daily is $12, and you're allowed one transaction per day. Funds do not carry over, and purchases cannot be made on weekends. You can also use the Red Card app to make snack orders at the BYU Nutrition Center, which is located at the Student Athlete Building (SAB).

Only student-athletes can obtain a fuel card. In order to receive one, you must be on a roster for a BYU team and have obtained your BYU ID from the ID office. An order for your card will be put in automatically. Fuel Cards can be picked up from Mindy Horne at 331 SAB on the first day of school. Waiting to get your BYU ID can delay this process by a week or longer.

Where's the Sports Nutrition Center?

The Sports Nutrition Center is located on the first floor of the SAB. To pick up your food, you must have your fuel card or a picture of your fuel card. Food orders are placed through the Red Card app. Orders cannot be made in person. Once you receive your fuel card, you will receive your login information and instructions on how to place an order via text and/or email.

Hours: Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Closed on campus holidays and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays for Devotional)
