Tutors

The Built4Life center hires a number of tutors to help with a variety of subjects. Our tutors hold regular study sessions in the SAB, and can be contacted by text using the numbers below to schedule one-on-one meetings. We list which classes are receiving weekly reviews in the center every Monday, so come early each week to learn how our tutors can help you.

Many classes also offer their own independent TA labs, held at different locations and times across campus. These reviews can be very beneficial for improving test scores and increasing confidence in course material. Occasionally, the Built4Life center will host one of these TA labs, including for classes like American Heritage. See the official website for dates and times where these courses will hold their meetings.

Tutor sessions are conducted through Stutor, an online scheduling platform designed to help you find the ideal person to improve your studies. Stutor contains a directory of all of Built4Life's tutors, their contact information, and the times they're available. Scheduling a meeting is easy through the app, you simply find the tutor you wish to meet with and add yourself to their calander. Unlike previous semesters, where appointments were made through text message, Stutor will allow you to schedule your appointments at a specific time and place, allowing you to better plan your time and prioritize your studies. In addition, meetings can be held either at Built4Life or online through the Stutor app, giving you the choice of where—or anywhere—you want to meet.

While the app is free to download, you must have a link emailed to you in order to make an account with BYU Athletics. Check both your inbox and junk within your student email account. If you don't have an invite, you can receive one by contacting Georgi at georgi_brown@byu.edu or Trinity at built4lifetutors@byu.edu. The link will open your web browser and ask you to answer some short questions about yourself. The video below contains the same step-by-step process, refer to it if you have any questions. Once your account has been made, you will be able to log into the app. If you attempt to log into the app before making your account, your profile won't be able to access our tutors.

How to Create an Account as a Student Athlete

Also consider these two videos if you have questions on how to book a tutor session or how to begin and end a session.

Starting and Ending a Session as a Student

Through Stutor, we aim to protect more of your privacy, as well as the privacy of our tutors. Instead of having phone numbers and group session schedules posted online for anyone to see, Stutor allows for secure communication without handing out anyone's contact information. Everything needed to have a successful tutor session is contained within the app. In addition, Stutor allows both you and your tutors to rate your experiences, allowing everyone to learn and grow from constructive feedback.

If you have questions about Stutor, reach out to their support team at cj@stutor.com or cadenj@stutor.com. They are actively soliciting feedback and would love to hear from you.

For the time being, you can continue to message tutors through the contact information found below.
