Provo UT - The Built4Life center hosted their biannual career fair on October 8th, 2025, experiencing a record turnout from both student-athletes and vendors alike. Members of every athletic team packed the track at the Smith Fieldhouse, speaking with recruiters from every walk of life. Attendees left the event excited by the unexpected and overwhelming number of opportunities offered to them throughout the evening.
The student-athlete career fair featured representatives from both local offices and national organizations, ranging from the state sheriff to the United States Army. Insurance companies, law firms, and banks spoke to student-athletes about routes for finance majors, while business students spoke with employees from start-ups and enduring brands. With many more vendors than in previous years, student-athletes were able to find career avenues for any industry they were interested in.
Carmen Alder, a member of the women’s track and field team, was extremely grateful to have an event catered to both student-athletes as well as many of her own interests. “I love that they have these things for student-athletes,” she shared. “I really like that they had the state sheriff come as well. I’m glad they put this together, it was cool.”
Student-athletes walked between multiple rows of booths throughout the Smith Fieldhouse, viewing tables covered in various types of merchandise from each of the visiting corporations. Attendees were free to take home samples, business cards, and even plushies of the famous Aflac duck. Cookies and drinks were offered in the center of the room as refreshments, which student-athletes took as they searched for ways to forge their future careers.
“I thought it was a super cool experience seeing different internships and job opportunities,” Kaylee Tingee said. As a freshman on the women’s volleyball team, Kaylee Tingee was excited to begin her job search early, searching through the lines of booths for possible connections with employers and workplaces to pursue in the future.
Meanwhile Elena Wallace, another member of the women’s volleyball team, was also searching for future employment opportunities in anticipation of her graduation next year. “I wanted to network because I’m about to go into the workforce,” she said. “It was super awesome. I talked to a few people and had a great time."
The evening was a massive success for everyone. The Smith Fieldhouse was busy until the last possible minute, only clearing out once the doors closed and the remaining recruiters left still speaking with enthusiastic athletes. With more student-athletes, vendors, and opportunities than ever before, it was an evening of excitement and promise, destined to make an impact on the BYU Cougars’ future careers.
